The dreaded Spring cleaning

Let’s face it …. Spring cleaning kind of sucks! Not the small pleasures of things like washing the dishes after a meal prepared with love, setting the table before breaking bread with friends or cleaning the dog after a long walk in the woods in a rainy Oregon winter.

I’m talking about the occasional jobs that are not so fun …… like having to clean the scum out of the compost pail …. Scrubbing the toilet after putting it off too long ….. having to get up high and clear off a years’ worth of cobwebs in hard to reach areas, clean your gutters or clean off your fireplace/woodstove after a winter of wood burning. The dreaded Spring cleaning.

But, it’s awfully hard to get to get that rewarding feeling from some plastic junk from a big box store. You know what I mean?

A warm stir fry in pottery from your favorite potter eaten with a hand carved wooden spoon from an artist at the local market, with right intention. Feeling good about buying local. It may cost a little more but it adds to your quality of life.

Next time you need a broom, brush or duster consider this. We have a broom for every purpose. Thurman
