In Memory of "Brooming Man
Last Summer when we got home from the Country Faire, we noticed something terrible. Brooming Man had developed a bad infestation of bugs. We kept him outside for fear he might be contagious and infect the others. We kept him around for months. We sadly watched him get worse and finally the hard decision had to be made to put him out of his misery. As his name implies, he was appropriately cremated.
In case you don’t know who Brooming Man was, he was an eight-foot-tall marionette made of our sticks and broomcorn which we brought
out every year to hover over our booth at the Country Fair. His joints were hinged and he would wave at passers-by and dance with the parades as they passed. Many a kid has been entertained for hours in our loft bringing Brooming man to life and delighting the crowds below.
So, the question is …… Should we make a new Brooming Man or do something new this year? We want your feedback. Thanks
In case you’ve never been to our little local fair. Here’s a video from a couple of years ago. We can’t wait.
