About our philosophyIn a day when "globalization" means an easy profit for those that have no conscience against the cost ......... In a day when "planned obsolescence" is a calculated business strategy ....... In a day when the individual craftsman is a dying breed in a culture that seeks About the process
Scheumack Brooms are made of only the highest quality 100% broomcorn and Southern kiln dried hardwoods. The tools used to make the brooms are actually still old tools from an 1878 broom shop in Kentucky ( The foundry marks can still be clearly seen on
the castings). They are extremely functional as well as decorative. We do every aspect of the work , from harvesting and preparing the raw materials to the finished piece. From the little sapling that was harvested out of the Ozark Mountains to the finished tool you hold in your hands, we made it with love …… and sometimes weariness ….. or any of the plethora of things we humans travel through down life’s road. But WE do it all. About our wood carvings
Our wood carvings are completely hand carved using traditional wood carving tools and techniques. We do not
employ the use of rotary tools, mechanical reproduction, or resin molds. It’s just kiln dried hardwoods, knives and chisels. About our customers
We know the kind of customers that are attracted to our work are looking for a little more. They’re not just looking for the cheapest price. They see the importance of buying locally and effecting change with their purchasing power. They appreciate a good tool, and put more value on the quality and meaning of things they possess than just the quantity. If you are this kind of person, you are gonna love our stuff. Happy shopping.
